Hello everyone! Umm, maybe it’s a bit late to celebrate Xmas, but I guess we’re right in time to wish a happy new year to all our readers! ^_^

Our new year’s resolution? Well, I guess it’s obvious it’s finishing ‘Sunflower’ and winning loads & loads of awards with it (and ruling the world, of course)!!!

And here is a little belated present…

I did this illustration for an exhibition, but I’ve had it in mind for some time as concept art for one of the settings (and it also tells a bit about one of the characters, the little girl who turns herself towards the sun… but I’ve already said too much! I hope CQ won’t scold me… :p ); I’d like to be able to keep some of this atmosphere also in the movie, maybe a little less… um… green? ^^;
Anyway we’ll see, we’re working on the settings right in these days… waah, I look forward to start animating!! (ok, how long will it take before I totally repent of what I just said? :p )

And now, if you excuse me, I go to shake some pandoros. *nods*
Best wishes again to everyone, see you next year!!!

The final cast

Yesss, we are still alive… and so is our project :)

But first of all, for the ‘Shameless self-promotion corner’: I have rescued my little old homepage from the giant limbo of the abandoned-or-sort-of websites, if you want to take a look and send me mails full of insults the address is in our link section!

And now, the serious business… the design for all the characters of ‘Sunflower’ is finally ready! You can see it after the link, and down here you can see a little taste of it. I guess this will also be the style of the animations…

… and here is the final cast. But be careful if you want to see it, it contains OMG!spoilers!!!11

The storyboard finally DONE!!!

Guys, girls, sirs and mistresses (…),  we’re proud to announce that after lots of paper, lots of pencil, eraser and POST-ITs, the storyboard work  has come to an end.

Yes, it could look strange but…  we wanted to try the american way of storyboarding, drawing every scene in a single post-it and sticking it over a plastic board. Wanna know? It works!
The best thing is the “coup-de-l’oeil”, we can see all the story flow in just one view. And if something needs to be anticipated or posticipated, we can just unstick and restick in right position.
Cool.

And now, some advices for nOObs:

- DON’T USE CHEAP POST-IT: this damn non-original yellow shit tend to unstick faster than u can think: the result is a floor full of little yellow paer. Add a cat to this, and u have a storyboard full of pawprints…. >_<

- USE A BIG BOARD: Self explained, don’t u think? Big board = big space = more damn yellow cheap things.

See u soon, folks!

The bad guys

Some new character concepts…

… um, can you hear the ‘X-files’ theme, too?… :D

These are some pics taken from the storyboard, before the main titles.

BTW, we are trying to use the “american way storyboard”: a lot of Post-it over a plastic blackboard. Wanna know? IT WORKS!!!

BUT, because SOMEONE (…) took some CHEAP ONES, half of them are now on the floor. I have to post some pics of it…

sunchara

… or, at least, one of the first concepts of them!!
I have still to study a bit their appearance and the technique I’ll use for drawing them in the animation, but I think they already are someway near to the final result… (I hope CQ agrees with me :P )
